Discuss your Miami Beach wedding

A reception that moves from timeless favorites to House music

Classic favorites and electronic music can both belong in your reception. The starting point is your taste: familiar vocals, meaningful songs and the energy you want when dancing begins.

Build a music brief for every part of the celebration

For a welcome gathering, cocktail hour and wedding reception, decide whether each event needs its own musical identity. A relaxed saxophone set can leave space for conversation; familiar vocals can open the reception; a later House or EDM set can reflect the music you love. Share the artists, originals and remixes that matter to you rather than relying on a broad label such as “club music.”

Plan the change between spaces

If your Miami celebration moves from a terrace to a ballroom, ask your planner about setup access, power and the time available to transition. Confirm music end times and volume limits with the venue. If part of the event is outdoors, agree on a covered setup and a weather backup before finalizing the timeline.

Performance experience in Miami and the surrounding area

Khalil’s past performance locations include Mayfair House Hotel & Garden in Miami, Baia at Mondrian South Beach in Miami Beach, and Thalatta Estate in Palmetto Bay. These are different settings within the wider Miami area; each celebration needs its own music and setup plan.

Wedding music briefs in this area have included yacht rock dance remixes and House, as well as Latin music, hip-hop, salsa and bachata. Share the versions and genres you love so your own soundtrack reflects you.

Mayfair House Hotel & Garden: classics and a House music kickoff

A wedding music brief at Mayfair House in Coconut Grove paired Chuck Mangione’s “Feels So Good” for the ceremony entrance with Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love” for the recessional. The couple selected Supertramp’s “Give a Little Bit” for their reception entrance and first dance, followed by Kygo and Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” to begin the dance set. Those choices show how familiar songs and House music can share a personal wedding soundtrack.

Thalatta Estate: electronic entrances and Latin favorites

For a wedding at Thalatta Estate in Palmetto Bay, the planning brief specified Kygo’s “Higher Love” and “Stole the Show” for family and wedding-party entrances, then “This Girl” by Kungs and Cookin’ on 3 Burners for the couple’s entrance. Carin León’s “Primera Cita” was chosen for the couple’s dance, Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL” for the dance-floor kickoff, and Sound of Legend’s “Sweet Dreams” for the final group dance. Each selection served a different moment rather than forcing the whole celebration into one genre.

Frequently asked questions

Do you travel to Miami for weddings?

DJ Khalil on Sax is based in Orlando and serves Florida weddings, including Miami, subject to date availability and event logistics. Share your date and venue to discuss travel and setup in your proposal.

Can we include Latin music as well as classics and House?

Yes. Share the artists, songs and versions you want, including any Latin favorites. Build the brief around your guests and preferences, and discuss how those tracks fit with classic hits and electronic music. No single playlist represents every Miami wedding.

Can we choose our own songs?

Yes. Bring a must-play list, a do-not-play list and examples of artists or genres you enjoy. Discuss original versions, remixes and the moments where you want live saxophone.

What should we send when inquiring?

Send your date, venue, approximate guest count, ceremony and reception schedule, and a few examples of music you love. Include whether you want cocktail-hour saxophone, reception saxophone or both. Pricing and the final scope depend on your event.

Will every song have live saxophone?

The plan combines DJ performance with saxophone on selected songs or sets. Discuss the balance during planning rather than assuming continuous saxophone throughout the event.
